Lead with us in the UK mountains.
Thank you for your interest in working with us on our mountain events. We run UK outdoor challenges led by qualified Mountain Leaders, and we’re always glad to hear from experienced leaders who share our standards. We value our leaders highly — and we ask them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism at all times, be proactive ambassadors for the business, and role-model our values.
Qualified, insured and first-aid current? We’d love to add you to our leader pool.
Great leaders, held to a real standard.
Our participants trust us with their safety and their big day on the hill. That trust is only as good as the people leading them, so every leader in our pool is qualified, insured and current before they ever take a group out. If that’s you, the rest is straightforward.
Properly qualified
A valid Mountain Training award — Mountain Leader or higher — appropriate to the terrain and season you’ll be working in.
First-aid current
An in-date outdoor first-aid certificate. Our minimum is 16-hour Outdoor First Aid; higher awards (e.g. FREC 3) are welcome.
Properly insured
In-date public liability insurance of at least £5,000,000, written to your Mountain Training qualification scope.

Reliable, calm under pressure and a natural ambassador for the people you lead and the business you represent.
What you’ll upload with your application.
You’ll upload these directly in the Expression of Interest form — there’s a secure upload for each. Please have them ready before you start.
- All outdoor qualifications held — copies of every relevant Mountain Training (or equivalent) award.
- Your outdoor first-aid certificate — in date; 16-hour Outdoor First Aid minimum.
- Proof of public liability insurance — in date; £5m minimum, to your qualification scope.
- A one-page outdoor CV — your experience, terrain and the groups you’ve led.

FirstName LastName DocumentName — for example, Bob Jones ML Certificate.pdf. Consistent naming lets us process your application quickly; without it, we can’t move it forward.
From application to your first event.
Apply
Complete the Expression of Interest form and upload your qualifications, first-aid certificate, PL insurance and one-page outdoor CV.
Join the list
You’re added to our staff email database, so you receive regular updates on upcoming events.
We validate
We review your information and validate your experience (unless we already know you). You may be invited to shadow an event or work as a paid Assistant Leader.
Join the pool
Accepted into our leader pool, you’ll e-sign a short contract setting out our respective responsibilities, covering all future events.
Get the work
We share upcoming UK events with the pool and invite qualified leaders to deliver them — with dates, region, meeting point and fee up front.

Good leaders have their pick of work, so we make ours worth choosing: real events, clear briefs, and we treat you the way freelancers should be treated.
- Paid promptly — we pay invoices as soon as we receive them, the same day in most cases.
- Discretionary bonuses — where we receive excellent client feedback, we often pay a bonus on top.
- Clear, safe events — every job comes with dates, region, meeting point, group details and fee agreed up front.
- A genuine pool — regular event updates and a straightforward way to say when you’re available.
