Private Guiding

Bespoke mountain guiding. follow your dreams.
Private Mountain Guiding

Your mountain. Your day. Guided by an Everest summiteer.

A bespoke day in the UK’s finest mountains, planned entirely around you — your first Munro, a classic ridge, or simply moving through wild country with someone who knows it well.

What it is

Guiding stripped back to its purest form.

A one-to-one — or small-group — mountain day built around your goals, your pace and your ambitions. There’s no fixed itinerary and no crowd to keep up with. This is different from my Outdoor Challenges, which are about teams. Private guiding is about you — an individual, a couple, a family or a few friends who want a mountain expert to themselves for the day.

Who it’s for

You don’t need to be an athlete. You just need to want it.

First-timers

Summit safely and learn from someone who’s climbed the highest mountain on Earth.

Experienced walkers

Step up to scrambling, ridges or winter ground with an expert alongside you.

Munro-baggers

Chase specific summits, remote peaks, or the ones that need a rope.

A personal challenge

A birthday summit, a comeback after illness, a goal that means something — guided with total attention.

Where we’ll go

The Highlands are home. The UK is the playground.

The Scottish Highlands are my heartland — Glen Coe, Torridon, the Cairngorms, the Mamores and the Skye Cuillin among them. I also guide in the Lake District, Snowdonia (Eryri) and the Peak District. If you have a specific mountain, ridge or route in mind anywhere in the UK, tell me — chances are we can make it happen.

The Founder’s Ascent — your personal summit.

Every day includes more

It’s not just a guided day — it’s a duty of care.

Personal advice before you book, an expert leader making the safety calls, careful risk management on the hill, and the right technical equipment provided — the practical support that gets you up the mountain and safely home.

For bigger objectives we’ll also talk you through Global Rescue — a membership you hold for emergency evacuation & repatriation (a rescue service, not insurance), which we recommend alongside your own cover.
